It is with great sadness that the family of Roy D. MacKey announce his passing at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital, N.L., on Saturday, October 4, 2014, at the age of 72 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife: Millie, his stepchildren: Tony, John, Sheldon, Shannon, Juanita, Bonnie, Caroline, Jackie, Idella and Sharon, special granddaughter Sarah, 16 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers and sister Claude MacKey, Greenmount, PE; Lee (Judy) MacKey, Ontario; Rollie MacKey, Greenmount, PE; and Beverly (Carl) Ellsworth, Palmer Road, PE. Also leaves to mourn a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Alfred and Mary MacKey. He will be resting at Parsons Funeral Home & Chapel, 63 North Main Street, Deer Lake, N.L. The funeral will be held Wednesday, Oct. 8, at The Salvation Army Church in Deer Lake at 2 p.m. with burial to follow at the church cemetery.
