BAXTER, SALLY - Sally Ormsby Baxter wife of the late John B.M. Baxter died on Monday, October 6, 2014, at home. Born in Fredericton, she was the daughter of the late Richard M.W. Black and Alice M Brown and step-daughter of the late Sarah (Pete) Black. Surviving are her son, Kirk Baxter (Colleen) of Rothesay, two daughters, Keltie Foster (Gary) of Saint John and Rahno Rideout of Sussex, her brother, Shawn Black (Gertrude); seven grandchildren, John, David and Jane Foster, Christopher (Layka) and Michael Rideout, and Adam (Meagan) and Luke Baxter as well as three great-grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. Besides her parents and husband John, she was predeceased by her brothers Brian and Richard Black and step brother Harold (Kirk) Kirkpatrick. Sally volunteered for many organizations over the years. She loved puttering around her property and was often found attacking weeds that unwisely chose her garden to invade. She was a voracious reader and really enjoyed her many years as a member of the Eclectic Club. In recent years she looked forward to her morning exercise group. She was always up to date on current and world events and was keen to enter a debate on politics at any level at any time. She was a great source of advice and help when needed for her entire family. She will be greatly missed!
At Sally's request there will be no visiting. A family service will take place at Big Rock Cemetery, Bloomfield, next to her husband at a later date. Remembrances to the Canadian Cancer Society or the CNIB or donors choice would be appreciated.
