BRAUN, ARDEN WALTER - Arden W. Braun of Millville, NB passed away October 8, 2014 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Arden was born at Millville, NB in 1934, a son of the late Wilbur and Bernice (McGuigan) Braun. Before his marriage to Caroline (Brown) Braun he served in the Canadian Military as a Gunner and Paratrooper in Shilo, Manitoba. He began his working career as a lineman for NB Power and then moved to Ontario in 1963 to begin a career with General Motors. Arden retired from General Motors in 1991 in the position of supervisor and in 2003 moved back to Millville. He was a Past President of Millville Legion #59. Arden is survived by his wife of 56 years, Caroline; his children, Arden Jr., Andrea Bruce (Gary), Jimmy (Joanne), Stephen (Shana), Rodney (Kelly) and Deanna McLellan (Derrick); ten grandchildren; a great-grandson; his mother-in-law, Doreen Brown; two sisters, Phyllis Potter and Gladys Smalley; several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law in Caroline’s family, nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a granddaughter Jolene, a sister Leona Black, brothers Charles, Garnet, Dale and Clyde and his father-in-law, Douglas Brown.
Visiting hours will be held at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic, NB on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Royal Canadian Legion tribute service will be held Saturday evening at 7 p.m. Funeral service will be held from the funeral home chapel on Sunday, October 12, 2014 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Wayne Blinn officiating. Interment will follow at Millville Cemetery.
