MURRAY, KENNETH HUGH - The death of Mr. Kenneth Hugh Murray, husband of Ella (Silliker) Murray of Miramichi, NB, occurred on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at the Miramichi Regional Hopsital at the age of 87. Born in New Jersey, NB, he was the son of the late Curtis and Clara (Stymiest) Murray. Kenneth worked as a fisherman before beginning his career working for CN in Moncton. He was a former member and elder of Mountainview United Church, Moncton, NB and member of St. James and St. John United Church, Newcastle, NB and former member of the men’s choir there. Besides his wife: Ella, Kenneth is survived by: four daughters: Lynn Liao (Philip) of Charlotte, North Carolina; Sandra Stiles (Ron) of Fredericton, NB; Nancy Sampson (Paul) of West Vancouver, BC; Dr. Debra Wilson (Dr. Donald) of Edmonton, AB; two sons: Brian of Newcastle, NB; David (Yenni) of Richmond, BC; six sisters: Ruth Duff of Moncton, NB; Marie MacDonald (Perley) of New Jersey, NB; Thelma Hayward (Dr. Clint) of Chatham, NB; Betty Reade (Douglas) of Moncton, NB; Phyllis Davidson (George) and Mildred Savoy all of Burnt Church, NB; eight grandchildren: Jessica, Sarah and George “Gerry” Sampson, Olivia, Sydney and Avery Murray, Danika and Makayla Wilson and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Kenneth is predeceased by: two sons: Robert and infant: Lawrence.
The family will receive visitors at Bell’s Funeral Home on Saturday from 6 to 9 PM. The funeral service will be held from the H. Sterling Bell Memorial Chapel on Sunday, October 12, 2014 at 2 PM with Rev. Charlene Maguire MacKnight officiating. Burial will follow in the Burnt Church Union Cemetery, Burnt Church, NB. In lieu of flowers, in Kenneth’s memory, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Bell’s Funeral Home, 651 King George Highway, Miramichi, NB.
