Timothy Hooper

HOOPER, TIMOTHY - It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Timothy Norval Hooper (May 31, 1939 – Oct. 6, 2014) of Rothesay, NB. Tim was born at home in Chamcook, NB, to John ‘Merle’ and Mary ‘Ruth’ (MacGillivray) Hooper. Tim, upon graduating from Vincent Massey High School in St. Andrews, went right into the work force at the Bank of Nova Scotia in St. Andrews, transferring to Montague, PEI, North Head, Grand Manan and back to St. Andrews where he met and married Charline W. (Coughey) and transferred to Saint John. He then worked for Metropolitan Life Insurance, Apex Industrial Supplies, Cartier’s Men’s Wear, Bayview Trucks, and Colonial Inns. Tim was loved by all who knew him and had a gentle, kind, and patient spirit. Even throughout his 20 years of illness that slowly crippled his body, he never complained and lived one day at a time. He loved the Lord and attended Rothesay Baptist Church for 45 years serving in various ministries. He really enjoyed baseball and was an avid Boston Red Sox fan. Tim is survived by his wife, Charline, and four children: ‘Dici’ & Gordie (Chase) of Rothesay, Martha Perry of Riverbank, Tim & Monika (Rempel) of Winnipeg, and Jeff & Stephanie (Collins) of Saint John. He was especially proud of his 18 grandchildren: Trevor, Carter, Mark, Dylan & Carly Chase, Caitlyn, Matthew, Connor, Courtney, Molly, Jack, Justin & Joshua Perry, Michael, Madison & Aeden Hooper, Stephen & Cassidy Hooper, and one great-grandson, Dyson Cullin. He also leaves behind his special big sister, June Armstrong of St. Andrews. Many thanks to the friends and family for their support through his time of illness.
Arrangements are under the direction of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave (634-1701). Visitation will be held at the Rothesay Baptist Church, 30 Vincent Road, Quispamsis, NB on Monday October 13, 2014 from 2:00p.m. to 4:00p.m & 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. A memorial service will be held from Rothesay Baptist Church on Tuesday October 14, 2014 at 11:00a.m. Donations in Tim’s memory can be made to Rothesay Baptist Church, Parkinson’s Society or to the charity of one’s choice.www.castlefh.com
