ALLEN, GEORGE STEWART - George Stewart Allen, loving husband of Helen Verna (Wallace) Allen, of West Saint John, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 10, 2014 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born September 18, 1927 in Saint John, NB he was the son Roy Cecil and Mary (Stewart) Allen. Stewart worked for Local # 8 as a Brick Layer. He enjoyed woodworking, tending to his garden, spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be sadly missed and always remembered. In addition to his devoted wife Helen of 62 years, he is survived by his son Roy Allen (Geraldine); daughters Mary Limkilde (Gary), Rose White (Kevin) and Cindy Schousboe (John) all of Saint John; cherished grandchildren Heather, Laura, and Andrea Limkilde, David and Jennifer White, Andrew and Catherine Schousboe; great-grandchildren Matthew, Julia and Catlin; sister Florence Stymiest of Saint John; several nieces and nephews.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) with visitations on Monday October 13 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Rose de Lima Church on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at 12 noon.
