The death occurred peacefully surrounded by her large loving family, at the South Shore Villa in Crapaud, on October 9, 2014, of Laura Dougay (Mulligan), formerly of Kinkora. Laura was born in Newton to her late parents Jerome and Gertrude (Murphy) Mulligan. Predeceased by her beloved husband of 52 years, John Dougay. Devoted mother of Paulette Bassett (Wendall), St. Eleanors; Brenda Ranahan (Arthur), Borden-Carleton; David Dougay, Kinkora; Paul Dougay (Maureen), Summerside; Nelson Dougay (Brenda), Cornwall; Michael Dougay, Kinkora; and Tracy Thomson (Trent), Shamrock. Loving grandmother to 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Survived by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Gladys Dougay, St. John, NB; Doug Preston, Brantford, Ont.; Joseph and Tennie Dougay, Albany, and by numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her sister Iris Campbell, brother-in-law George Campbell and grandson, Ryan Dougay; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Edna and Phillip Dougay, Amiel Dougay, Ned and Marie Dougay, Eva and Fred Leard, Melvin and Mary Dougay, Myrtle Preston, Alice and Fred Dougay, infant brother Alyre Dougay and by parents-in-law Jerome and Veronica Dougay. Resting at Kinkora Place, Kinkora, for visiting hours Sunday, Oct. 12, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Monday, Oct. 13, at St. Malachy’s Church, Kinkora, for funeral mass at 10 a.m. Interment in parish cemetery.
