Jessie Rose Caroline Wilson

WILSON, Jessie Rose Caroline – 87, Manotick, Ontario, formerly of Truro, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Thursday, October 9, 2014, at The Ottawa Hospital General Campus. Born June 10, 1927, in Kemptown, Jessie was the youngest daughter of the late George and Margaret (MacCleary) Munro. She will be sadly missed by her daughters, Marian (Stephen), Bonnie (Peter), Cindy (André); grandchildren, Matthew, Quinn, Catherine; sister, Sarah (Donald) Vance; brother, John (Reta) Munro; many nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Harold; infant son, Roger; sisters, Marion, Lila; brothers, Charles, George, Roderick, Alex “Sandy”. Jessie was proud of her first career as a bookkeeper and took even greater pride in her later role as mother and grandmother. Jessie was a long time member of First United Church and got great comfort from her faith. She was a prolific and talented baker, avid reader, lover of cryptogram puzzles and follower of current events. With her husband Harold, she enjoyed touring the back roads of Nova Scotia and regularly attending square dances. Heartfelt thanks go out to the General Surgery team members and to all the staff on 6 Northwest and 7 East for their excellent and compassionate care. A special thank you to Pierrette Graham for the wonderful care provided over the past year and to the residents of Hyfield Place who have made her feel at home in Manotick for the past six years. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall – Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where the funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Tuesday, October 14, 2014, Reverend Valerie Kingsbury officiating. Reception will follow. Interment in Crossroads Cemetery, 110 Salmon River Road, Valley. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jessie’s memory to Rural Ottawa South Support Services (ROSSS) or Lung Association of Nova Scotia are welcomed.
