NAISH, LORETTA - It is with great sadness that the family of Loretta Naish announces her passing on October 10, 2014, at the Oromocto Pubic Hospital. “We are sure Mom is doing an audit in Heaven”. Mom was born on March 29, 1934 in Kingston, ON and was the oldest of 11 children to the late Wilford and Monica Corkey. She is survived by her three children, Arthur (Robin) of Grand Bay, Debbie of Lincoln, and Jackie (Cindy) of Lincoln. She was a wonderful grandmother to eight grandchildren Chris, Corey, Jessica, Shawna, Kelly, Erin, Sarah, and Ryan. She was also a great grandma to six and a half great grandchildren Skye, Connor, Rachael, Bryson, Wesley, Jax, and baby ? Mom was predeceased by her husband Jack Naish, partner George Coleman, and brother Diggy. Loretta was employed at CFB Gagetown for over 35 years and retired as an auditor. She also worked at Reitmans, The Bowling Alley, The Book Nook, and The Curling Club. Wherever there was a function Mom was there. She loved the Legion, was on the Ladies Auxilliary and LOOK OUT! when the poppy campaign started because she was on full force. She could also play a mean games of cards. She was the treasurer of the Oromocto Navy League, Vice President and Secretary of the Union at Base Gagetown, a member of the Fredericton Canadians Booster Club, and a Pioneer Kate in Pioneer Days. Mom loved her sports and Don Cherry. She played hockey, baseball, and her passion was bowling. Mom was always willing to lend a hand and would count the donations to the last cent. The family would like to thank all the staff at the Oromocto Public Hospital for their wonderful care. You were amazing.
Visitation will be held at the Oromocto Funeral Home on Sunday, October 12, 2014 from 1-4 pm. The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #93 will hold a tribute service at 1 pm on Sunday. The funeral service will be held in the Oromocto Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, October 13, 2014 at 11:00 am with Fr. Antonio Reyes officiating. A reception will be held in the funeral home immediately following the service. A private family interment will be take place in St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Cemetery. For those who wish, donations in memory of Loretta may be made to the Oromocto Legion Poppy Fund or to the Oromocto Navy League Cadets.
