July 4, 1946 - October 10, 2014. Passed away at his residence in St. John's on October 10, 2014 after a lengthy illness. Predeceased by his parents William Holwell and Laura (nee Connolly). Leaving to mourn his only son Danny Holwell (Alison Papirny), sisters Barbara Greeley (Sandy), Lorraine Brewer (Jim) and Gertrude Westcott (Hugh), brothers Bill and Ron (Millicent), step daughters Roxanne Stokes, 3 step grandchildren Ellis, Sandy and Courtney, very special niece and nephew Tammy and Bill Holwell whom he loved dearly. Mother of his son Danny Shirley Holwell and her friend Dave Bradbury. Many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends of St. Johns and Wabush, especially Ron and Eileen Costello of Wabush Labrador and Buck Morgan (Bill) a lifelong friend. Resting at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Saturday October 11, 2014 from 2 - 9 p.m. and Sunday from 12 - 9 p.m. A Funeral service will take place from St. Teresa's Parish on Monday October 13, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. Flowers gratefully accepted.
