MITTON, EDNA G. - Edna G. Mitton, of Moncton, passed away peacefully at her residence on Thursday, October 9, 2014. Born in Shepody, she was the daughter of the late William and Bertha (Govang) Payne. Edna was a former employee of the J. D. Creaghan Co. Ltd., with 46 years’ service. She was a long time member of Highfield Baptist Church, a member of the Highfield Baptist Church U.B.W.M.U., a Provincial Life Member of the U.B.W.M.U. and Dominion Life Member of the U.B.W.M.U. Edna was a member of the Moncton Scottish Association and a former volunteer at Spencer Memorial Home with many years of service. Edna was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Hinson R. Mitton (January 1989); sister, Dora (2013) and brother, Alvan.
Visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Thursday , October 16, 2014 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, followed immediately by the Funeral Service at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel. Refreshments in the Funeral Home Reception Centre following the service. Interment, Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.
