Passed suddenly and peacefully at the Health Sciences Centre on Monday, October 13, 2014, Alfred Wesley Churchill of Portugal Cove at the age 71 years. Predeceased by parents, Levi and Daisy Churchill, loving wife Bernice (Miller) Churchill in May 2013 and precious grandson Matthew Churchill in March 2005. Leaving to mourn are his loving children, Wanda Gaudon, Rod Churchill (Desma) and Lynette Churchill (Shawn Park). He was adored by his grandchildren Adrianna Tailleur (Brad), Devan Gaudon, Ava & Mya Park and great- grandson Ryker Tailleur. Also leaving to mourn are sisters Joyce Gollop (Dave-deceased), Myrtle Tucker (Steve), Yvonne Phalen (Harold) and brothers Ern (Linda), Harold (Flora), Gordon (Marion) and Don (Sadie), brother-in-law Gordon Miller, sister-in-law Maureen Tucker and a large number of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and his ironworker buddies. The family would also like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of the Waterford Hospital's Dialysis Unit who showed Dad great compassion and care. Resting at Carnell's Funeral Home, Freshwater Road, St. John's on Tuesday October 14, 2014 and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral service will be held at Memorial United Church at 2pm on Thursday, October 16 with internment to follow at the United Church Cemetery on Bauline Line Extension, Portugal Cove.
