Ronald Wesley MacDonald

Born In: Glace Bay

Passed on: October 13th, 2014

It is with heartfelt sadness that the family of Ronald Wesley MacDonald, a wonderful brother, uncle and friend, announce his peaceful passing at Celtic Court, Sydney, on Monday, Oct. 13, 2014.
Born in Glace Bay, the son of the late Malcolm John and Margaret MacDonald.
Ronald will be lovingly remembered by his sisters, Mary Kerr, Chris (Art) Lynk, Florence (Bill) Barrett, Joyce (Bernie) James and Bernice (Jim) Gale, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
He was predeceased by his longtime companion, Dolena Lannon and sister, Willena Pyke.
Ronald enjoyed his time working at the Fortress of Louisbourg, where he earned the reputation of a hard worker and skilled carpenter. He loved nothing more than spending time with his great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews. They will truly miss their uncle.
Ronald’s family have been very appreciative of the staff at Celtic Court for the wonderful care and comfort provided to him. The staff appreciated his sense of humour and joked with him often.
In honouring Ronald’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Cremation has taken place under the care and guidance of Sydney Memorial Chapel. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
Memorials in memory of Ronald may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or to a charity of choice.
Online condolences to the MacDonald family are available through www.sydneymemorialchapel.com.
“Rest in peace, Uncle Ronald”
