It is with great sadness that the family of John Berezowski announce his sudden passing on Friday, October 10, 2014. He was born October 6th 1920 at Janow Corners. He had just celebrated his 94th birthday. John is survived by his wife of 64 years, Sadie (nee Kosowan), four children: Maurice (Joyce), Bob (Elaine), Mariann (Rick) Pender, Boris (Kenna); eight grand-children Chris, Monica, Michelle, Lana, Silvanna, Mathew, Kailee and Tanner; great-grandchildren: Riley, Jacob and A.J.. John leaves behind two brothers; Peter of Toronto and Frank (Paulette) of Prince Albert; a sister Josephine Schigol of Prince Albert and many nieces, nephews and friends. John is predeceased by his parents Joseph and Anna, sisters: Lucy (John) Evanoff, Mary (Norman) Romanchuk, Katie, Francis (Peter) Safruk, brothers: Mike (Stella), Steve (April), Walter (Mary), Charlie (Evelyn), Rudy, Adam (Francis), brother-in-laws: John Schigol, and sister-in-law: Theresa (Peter) Berezowski. As a young man John farmed with his father and was a truck driver hauling logs from the Candle Lake area. Farming in the Meath Park area was his life. He especially loved harvest time. John and Sadie farmed 46 years before semi-retiring to the Village of Meath Park. He enjoyed a good game of Kaiser with neighbour friends and especially with his grandchildren. His grandchildren were a great joy to him. He never missed an opportunity to tell them stories from the past. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, October 15th at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575- 28th Street West with Pastor Dennis Serfas officiating. Interment will be held at South Hill Cemetery. Memorial donations in John’s memory may be made to Canadian Diabetes Association. Family and friends may send online condolences to www.grays.ca.
