NEW GLASGOW – Jean Marie Walsh, 70, New Glasgow, passed away Sunday, October 12, 2014 in the Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care Unit, New Glasgow, surrounded by her family.
Born in Cape Jack, she was a daughter of the late Boniface and Irene (Benoit) Breen.
Retiring in 2006, Jean had been employed with Michelin Tire, Granton for 30 years, having previously been employed with Kodak, Toronto. Jean enjoyed traveling and spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed her many trips out west and watching Survivor with her pals, Albert and Weezie. Jean was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
Surviving are her husband, Frank; son, Joe, New Glasgow; grandchildren, Amber, Halifax; Andrew, at home; chosen grandchildren, Ashley and Bailey; sisters, Elizabeth (James) Breen, Harve Boucher; Carol (Charlie) Latimer, Fort McMurray; Marion (Gilbert) DeCoste, Hopewell; Bernadette Breen, Fort McMurray; Barbara Breen, Aulds Cove; brothers, Joe, Fernie, B.C.; Michael (Evangeline), Mulgrave; Gerald (Sylvia), Cape Jack; numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by brothers, Arthur and Georgie.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Thursday in Church of the Holy Name, Westville with Father Tom MacNeil presiding.
