Peacefully, with family at his side, on Saturday, October 11, 2014, at the QE II, Halifax, N.S., of Joe Murnaghan of Donagh, age 86 years.
Beloved husband of Elaine Murnaghan (nee Trainor) and loving father of Patricia (Terry) Phelan, Brian (Sandra), Karen (Paul), Danny (Joanne), Pius (Janice), Allan (Kim) and Wayne (Nathalie). Joe is also survived by 21 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; daughters-in-law, Carolyn and Lesa; brother, John Murnaghan (Betty); and sisters-in-law, Lucy and Viola Murnaghan.
He was predeceased by his parents - Michael and Johanna (nee Brazel) Murnaghan; son - Peter Murnaghan; brothers - Andrew, Rudolph, Dennis and Stephen Murnaghan; and granddaughter, Chantal.
Resting at Hillsboro Funeral Home, 2 Hollis Ave., Stratford, for visitation on Thursday, October 16, from 6-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 17 at St. Patrick's Church, Fort Augustus, at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery.
As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to St. Patrick's cemetery fund or to Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
