New Glasgow - Harold Dana Hunter, age 59, of New Glasgow, formerly of Truro, passed away Monday, October 13, 2014 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late Harold and Joan (Warren) Hunter. He was a retired partner from McLellan Industries in Truro and was previously employed by Irving Oil for 18 years. He is survived by daughters: Lisa (Glen) Jennings; Melissa (Jamie) Berkvens; son, Matthew (Kristina) Hunter; granddaughter, Amy Beth; brother, Dale; nephew, Christopher (Serena O’Gorman); niece, Jennifer (Andrew) McCluskey; step sons: Mitchell and Travis; aunt, Lorna Hunter. He was predeceased by a sister Joanne and sister-in-law, Marina (Waite) Hunter. Special thanks to Dr. Gerry Farrell, Dr. Peter Lee, Debbie Williams, Rhonda Langille, Joanne Cumminger and everyone with Palliative Care along with the Pictou County VON. He will be missed in the neighbourhood but got his wish to spend the summer on the deck. He is now at peace and “living the dream.” Visitation 7-9 pm Wednesday in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow, from where funeral service will be held at 11 am Thursday with Rev. Jeff Lackie officiating. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery.
