Passed peacefully away at her home surrounded by her family on Monday, October 13, 2014, Joy Rose of Salmon Cove, age 72 years. Predeceased by infant daughter; sister Carol; parents Julia and George H. Kelloway; parents-in-law Elizabeth and William and other members of the Rose family. Leaving to mourn her loving husband of 54 years, Fred; children Stephen (Francisco), Jeannette (Murvyn), Annette (Dave) and Fred (Dee); grandchildren Bobby (Alexandra), Chad (Katie), Ryan (Melissa), Zachary, Melanna, Kennedy, Riley, Cole and Kai; great-grandsons Tyler, Daniel and Dillon; sisters and brother Doreen (John) Wiseman, Lima Spurrell, Arthur J. (Sherry) Kelloway, Gail (Garry) Rogers and Elizabeth (Terry) Vaters; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Dorcas Penney, Muriel Suley, Effie Rose, Garfield and Marie Rose, Clifton Rose, Albert Spurrell and Lewis Efford; much loved nieces, nephews and cousins including two special cousins Elinor and Edna; a wide circle of friends including travel companions Gladys and Don Case and Edna and Bob Moore; former colleagues and students whose friendships she cherished. At Joy's request, cremation has taken place. The family received relatives and friends at Noel's Funeral Home, Carbonear. Rev. T. Wayne Blackwood conducted the funeral service on Friday, October 17 from Riverside United Church, Salmon Cove. Inurnment took place in Riverside United Church Cemetery, Salmon Cove.
