It is with profound sadness that we must announce the peaceful passing of Ronald Clayton Murphy, age 61, of Joggins, NS. Ron passed away with his wife by his side at the Dr. Georges L. DuMont Hospital, Moncton on Saturday, October 11, 2014.
Born in Amherst, NS, he was a son of Jean (Gautreau) Murphy of Joggins, NS and the late Clayton Murphy.
Ron was a member of the Joggins Fire Department. He loved darts, playing crib, bowling, and video games. If you didn't find him working in the yard, he was talking to his friends on CB radio.
Ron will be remembered as a great husband to his wife Susan, father to April Murphy (Lee Legere) of River Hebert and son to his mother Jean. He will also be sadly missed by his grandchildren Kayla, Tyler, Hayley, Chloe, Jacklynn and Brandon; great granddaughter Isabelle; sister in law Janice Tower of Amherst; niece Tanya; nephews Aaron, Nicholas and Jonathon; several aunts and uncles.
In addition to his father he was predeceased by his brother Larry.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Furlong~Jones Funeral Home, Main Street, River Hebert, (902-667-8777) where visiting hours will take place on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday, October 16, 2014 at 11 am from St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Church, Joggins, Fr. Phil Thibodeau officiating. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery.
