WESTCOCK, N.B. – It is with deep sadness, that the family of Alvin Snowdon, announce his passing on Tuesday, October 7, 2014, at the Sackville Memorial Hospital, with his loving family at his side. Alvin was 85 years of age.
Born on January 24, 1929 in Sackville, N.B., he was the son of the late Laurie and Fannie (Rogers) Snowdon.
Alvin was in the service station and small engine repair business for 55 years and excelled in the field of small engine repair. He loved to blueberry farm and was a former member of the NB Blueberry Growers Association. Alvin enjoyed playing guitar and the harmonica and was often accompanied in his music by his dog, Tex.
Alvin will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 58 years, Dorothy (Stokes) Snowdon of Westcock, N.B.; his children, Michael (Christine) Snowdon of Westcock, N.B., Pam (Walter) Paczkowski of Barrie, Ontario and Trish (Ed) Lowerison of Sackville, N.B.; his seven grandchildren, Andrew Snowdon, Katie Milligan, Justin Paczkowski, Meghan Paczkowski, Kristin Lowerison, Kyle Lowerison and Sarah Lowerison; two great-grandsons, Derek and Scott Milligan; his two sisters, Francis Snowdon of Sackville, N.B. and Barb Bembridge of Charlton, Ontario and by many nieces, nephews and extended family. Alvin also leaves behind his faithful sheltie, Tex.
Besides his parents, Alvin was predeceased by his son, James Snowdon in 2004; his great-granddaughter, Caroline Milligan and by his five brothers, Herbert, Emmerson, Odber, Lewis and Joseph.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (364-8188). Visiting hours took place at the funeral home on Friday, October 10, 2014, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service took place at Campbell’s Funeral Home on Saturday, October 11, 2014, at 2 p.m. with Pastor Danny Jack officiating. Burial took place in the Westcock Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Alvin may be made to the Westcock Cemetery, Mount View Church Hall or to the charity of one’s choice.
