GIROUARD, GÉRALD - 1948 - 2014 - Gérald Girouard, 66, of Bouctouche Cove, passed away peacefully at the Dr Georges-L Dumont University Center Hospital, on Monday, October 20, 2014. He was married to the late Irène (Richard) Girouard (2012). Born in Bouctouche, he was the son of the late Hervé Girouard and Ida (Dallaire) Girouard.Gérald was employed for a number of years with Poirier Tobacco Farms and most recently with the Department of Transportation. He will be sadly missed by his mother, Ida, his children; Bernice Allain (Guy) of Bouctouche Bay, Claudette Girouard (Bruno) of Moncton and Donald of Saint-Antoine, his grandchildren; Christopher, Dylan, Danyka and Dominic. He also leaves to mourn two sisters; Aldéa Richard (Réginald) of Bouctouche Cove and Jacqueline Girouard of Saint-Antoine, three brothers; Régis of Saint-John, Louis (Sandra) of Stow, MA, Acquilla of Bouctouche Cove and several nieces and nephews. Gérald was predeceased by a sister, Claudette and a brother, Médard.
Visitations will be held at the Maillet Funeral Home, 29 rue de l’église in Bouctouche, on Thursday, October 23, 2014 from 2 to 4 and from 7 to 9pm and on Friday from 11:30 to 12:15. Funeral Mass will be held in the Saint-Jean-Baptiste RC Church on Friday, October 24, 2014 at 12:30pm. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
