Nina (Watson) Henrich

Nina (Watson) Henrich

Passed on: October 22nd, 2014

It is with deep sense of loss that we announce the peaceful passing from this life of Nina Henrich in the presence of her devoted family on Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2014. Although we are saddened at this time we take comfort in the long and blessed life she enjoyed, and in the knowledge she will rest eternally with her loving husband Ed, who predeceased her nine years ago.
She was a kind and caring lady who loved her family dearly, and who over the years enjoyed many outings, vacations, and visits with them all. Up until shortly before her passing she remained eager to take a day trip or short excursion. It was most important to her to keep up with the lives and activities of her loved ones, and she was particularly delighted in sharing stories of her grandchildren, and their little ones to her friends.
Nina took great pride in her home and her property, maintaining a love of gardening, which she shared with Ed. She was so very happy to remain in her home, as it meant so much to her.
Nina is survived by her two daughters, both living in Northwest Arm, C.B., Donna and her husband Bernie Hickey, as well as Gail, and her husband F.X. MacNeil. She will also be greatly missed by her two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, Matthew and Jennifer MacNeil of Prime Brook and their children, Connor and Madeline, and Stephanie and Geoff Spencer of Antigonish, and their children Kate, Leah, and Ian. In addition she leaves behind her sister-in-law Teresa Watson, and brothers-in-law, Stan (Kay) Henrich, and Merrill Lewis. She is also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews. Nina considered herself fortunate to also have had many good friends who remained a constant source of enjoyment through their frequent visits and conversations.
Nina was born the daughter of Byron and Frances (MacKinnon) Watson of Point Edward. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her brothers, York, Edward, Bruce and sisters, Frances Olga in infancy and Lina Lynds.
There will be no visitation for the late Mrs. Henrich. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 27th at Our Lady of Fatima Church in Sydney River with Rev. Duaine Devereaux officiating with interment to follow in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Westmount.
Donations in Nina’s memory can be made to the C.B. Cancer Center Patient Care Fund or a charity of one’s choice.
