Dr. Chong Eel Park

PARK, DR. CHONG EEL - Park, Dr. Chong Eel (Phd.) of Moncton passed away peacefully at home on October 23, 2014 in his 88th year. Born in Hwasoon, South Korea, November 16, 1926. Chong is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Hyo Sun (Hong) Park, children; Dr. John (Cheon Ae) Park, Dr. Peter (Tina) Park, Mary Losey and Dr. Paul (Dr. Moon Ju) Park. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Matthew, Esther, Inha, Timothy, Nathan, James, Rhea, his many nieces, nephews, brothers and family back in Korea. Chong is predeceased by his younger brother Chong Sang Park and his parents. Chong was very active in the Presbyterian Church and was a long time elder at St. Paul Presbyterian Church and Korean Presbyterian Church in Ottawa. He was passionate about his research and studies in food safety and devoted his life to his research and work with the Health and Welfare and WHO.
A memorial service will be held at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, 77 Hildegard Dr. on Tuesday October 28, 2014 at 11:00 am. Interment will take place in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens. Donations in Chong’s memory may be made to the St. Andrews Church Building Fund.
