It is with saddened hearts, we the family announce the passing of Thomas on Oct. 24, 2014, at home with his brother by his side.
Born in Donkin, he was the son of the late Thomas and Sarah (Campbell) Lyons.
He was employed with Devco at the Machine shop, 1B and 26 colliery.
Thomas loved to camp at Louisbourg, Battery Park, and Mira where he was most happy.
Thomas is survived by brothers, Charles (Mary), Dan Willie; sisters, Mary, Ethel Nearing also nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by first wife, Violet (Taylor), second wife, Shirley (Bodhaine Marshall), brother Henry, stepson Idris 'Diddy' Taylor, brother-in-law John Nearing and sister-in-law Alice Lyons.
Visitation will be held on Monday, Oct. 27, 2014, from 7-9 p.m. at Patten Funeral Home, 71 Union St., Glace Bay, N.S. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 28 2 p.m. in Patten Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Allan MacLellan officiating.
