Marie MacNutt

MacNUTT, MARIE - Surrounded by her loving family, Marie J. MacNutt (Staples) passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital on October 25th after a brief illness. Marie was born in Curling, Corner Brook, Newfoundland on April 7th, 1933. Marie came to New Brunswick from Newfoundland and resided in Saint John where she raised seven children with husband Murray. The family lived in the north end and later moved to east Saint John. Marie was a doting grandmother and her grandchildren brought her great joy. She cross country skied until a couple years ago, loved to search for good berry picking spots far and wide, and treasured a good picnic with the family at the beach in summers. She was a woman with immense energy and spirit. Marie appreciated many types of popular music and on many an occasion, would burst into dance when the mood struck. As well as caring for a large family, she also worked at various occupations through the years. She especially enjoyed her work in the lab at Baxter's Dairies and was happiest when busy. Mom may you rest in peace and love. Marie is survived by her seven children; Heather Russell (Tony); Cathy Dyker (Carl); Paul MacNutt (Angela Ghiz);Tami Palinkas (Nick); Peter MacNutt (Jo-Anne); Maribeth MacNutt (Chris Steeves); Jocelyn Goguen (Dan). Survived by siblings Marg Lee, Kay Conolley, Imelda Staples (Curtis Mahoney), Greg Staples (Shirley), Marion Playter (Lawrence), Joan Wells (Randy) and John Staples (Maxine); 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. Marie was predeceased by her parents Florence and Stephen Staples, Murray H. MacNutt, who passed away in April 2014, and her brothers-in-law Gerry Lee and Jim Conolley. Special thanks to the skilled and compassionate staff of the Saint John Regional Hospital ICU. Thanks to Father David for his guidance, support and prayers for mom and our family.
