Neil James MacLeod, 98, New Glasgow and formerly of Westville passed away at Parkstone Enhanced Care, Halifax, on Sunday, October 26, 2014.
Born in Westville on Dec, 2, 1915, Neil was a son of the late William and Bessie MacLeod.
Neil owned grocery businesses in Westville and New Glasgow until his retirement in 1975. In his spare time he loved fishing and talking about fishing.
Surviving are his sister Alice Nelson, his sisters-in-law Jean MacLeod and Louise MacLeod as well as many nieces, grandnieces, nephews and grandnephews who remember him as a wonderful uncle.
He was predeceased by his wife Jessie, and sisters Katherine MacLeod and Isabel Black, and brother John.
Neil is resting at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville with visiting on Wednesday, October 29, from 1:00 to 1:45 pm where his funeral service will be held 2 o’clock on Wednesday with the Rev. Doug Pilsworth officiating. Burial will be in the Auburn Cemetery. After the service, guests are cordially invited to a reception at St. Paul United Church Hall. www.eaglesfuneralhome.ca
