Robert Wilfred Butler, 78, of Sydney, passed away Sunday, Oct. 26, 2014, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Born in Conception Bay, N.L., he was the son of the late John and Decima (Anthony) Butler.
Bob worked as produce manager until his retirement.
Bob is survived by his wife June, Sydney; daughters, Diane (Doug MacLean) Oldham and Cheryl Reid; sons, Robert and John (Debbie); sister Ruby Ferguson; brother Wayne (Sharon), all of Sydney; grandchildren, Shannon Hollahan, Evan Butler, Courtney Oldham, Jordan Butler, Jason Reid; great-grandchildren, Carter Gillis and Emily Reid.
Bob was predeceased by a daughter Arlene Butler, sisters, Mary Catherine Butler and Muriel 'Peg' Roberts , brother Malcolm, brother-in-law Alex Burns, and a grandson Shane Butler.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2014, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Sydney Memorial Chapel. Funeral service will take place Wednesday at 12 p.m. in the chapel with Rev. Thomas Whent officiating. Interment will take place at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or Canadian Cancer Society.
