Frederick Thomas  Farrow

It is with great sadness that we announce passing of Frederick Thomas Farrow age 85 of Amherst on Friday, October 24, 2014 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre in Upper Nappan.
Born March 3, 1929 in Amherst, he was a son of the late Earl Thomas and Ellen (Bumpstead) Farrow.
Fred worked for Robb Engineering for 41 years, progressing from sweeping floors and retiring as foreman of the plate and girder shop.
Upon his retirement, he became an avid woodworker, producing high quality pieces that are proudly displayed in many homes throughout our community.
He enjoyed fishing, and hunting in his younger years.
Above all he cherished the time spent with his loving wife and soul mate, Audrey.
Fred will be lovingly remembered by his sons, Tommie (Annie), Athabasca, AB, and their children, Jennifer, Courtney and Megan; Ronnie (Crystal), Winnipeg, MB, and their children, John, Jessica and Febra; and David (Catharine), Sudbury, ON and their son, Wilson; as well as eight great grandchildren; sister, Mary (Robert) Sinclair, Amherst; brothers, Harold (Marilyn), Amherst, George (Mary), Sackville, NB and Donald, Campbellton, NB; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family.
In addition to his parents, Fred was predeceased by his wife the former, Audrey M. Cormier.
Visitation will take place on Monday, October 27, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with funeral service on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m., Archdeacon Glenn Eason officiating from Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst (667-9906). Interment will take place in the St. Charles-Nativity Cemetery, followed by a reception at the Knight of Columbus hall.
Memorial contributions in Fred’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Tantramar Branch of Victoria’s Quilts Canada.
