Peacefully, with his niece by his side, at the Kings County Memorial Hospital on Sunday, Oct. 26, 2014, Frederick Sheffield Mackenzie of Montague, aged 80 years.
Fred was born in Lower Montague on October 13, 1934, the youngest son of John R. and Gertrude (Kneebone) Mackenzie.
He is survived by his sisters, Christine Ellsworth, Lower Montague, and Mary (Lloyd) Cann, Northam; by his brother, Roddy Mackenzie, Eldon; and by many special nieces and nephews.
Fred was predeceased by his parents; his brothers, Sandy and Alfred MacKenzie; and by his sisters, Isobel (Harold) King, Ann (Bill) Gilson; sisters-in-law, Barbara and Jean MacKenzie; brother-in-law, Albert Ellsworth; nephews, Wayne Ellsworth, Keith, Kenny and Everett King.
Resting at Ferguson Logan Montague Funeral Home where the funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, Oct. 30, 2014, at 1 p.m., with visiting hours on Wednesday, October 29, 2014, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Interment in the Lower Montague Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Montague Home Care or the P.E.I. Humane Society would be appreciated.
