Donald Earle Ward

We sadly regret the passing of Donald Earle Ward at 59 years of age in Calgary, AB. Donny resided in Standard, AB at the time of his premature death on Sunday, October 12, 2014. Donny will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Don was born in Calgary, AB on December 2, 1954. His first two years were spent in Hemer, Germany as an army brat. He was predeceased by his father, Corporal Earl Wendell Ward (June 23, 2014) and his mother, Isabelle Milne.
Don Ward Trucking Ltd. was Don’s pride and joy. He was in the transport industry for over thirty years. He was dedicated to his trade and was a true professional. Don was a kind-hearted, compassionate man who was loved and admired by all those who had the pleasure to know him. Donny would never turn his back on anyone in need. He always wore his heart on his sleeve. Donny led a magnificent, magical life travelling around the globe in his down time.
Don is survived by his sister Dianne Ward of Red Deer, his half-sisters, Judy White (Jim) of Gibson’s Landing, BC and Angela Ward and son Jason of Calgary. He is also survived by step-father Norman Milne (Isabelle) and nieces, Brandi Ward (Rick) from Red Deer and Angie from High Level, AB and twin nephews, Daryl and Darren of Edmonton. Don was also great-uncle to Jaxin and Brody Browes of Red Deer.
A special thank you to all the doctors, nurses and support staff at Red Deer Regional Hospital Emergency Department and the CCU at the Foothills Medical Centre. They were an amazing team.
A celebration of Don’s life was held on Monday, October 27, 2014 at LEYDEN’S CHAPEL OF REMEMBRANCE (304 - 18th Ave SW Calgary, AB) at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family by visiting leydens.com.
