David Lawrence MacDougall passed away on Sunday, October 26th , 2014 surrounded by his family, at the Chalmers Hospital in Fredericton, NB.
Born in Sydney, David was the son of the late John Lawrence and Adelaide Barbara (MacKenzie) MacDougall.
David worked for the UNB Bookstore for thirty-two years, retiring in 1998.
He is survived by his wife of thirty-four years, Janet “Jenny” (Hamilton), one daughter Carolyn (Bradley) Dee, grandchildren Tanner, Jayden and Shyla Dee of Fredericton and Tasha Dee of Moncton and great-grandson Lincoln Dee. David is also survived by his sisters Sheila Beaton of Sydney and Barbara (Richard) Dunphy of Fredericton. He will be missed by nieces, nephews and cousins in New Brunswick, Cape Breton and elsewhere, as well as his sister-in-law Norma Dodge and brother-in-law Jimmy (Marilyn) Hamilton.
Besides his parents Dad (1975) and Mother (1984), David was predeceased by his niece Shana Dunphy, brother-in-law Jim Beaton, and mother-in-law Elizabeth Hamilton.
A funeral service took place on October 29 at Bishop’s Funeral Home in Fredericton with Rev. Gil MacKenzie officiating. Remembrances may be made to the Kidney Foundation, the Canadian Diabetes Association, the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
