Roland Harding

HARDING, ROLLAND - Rolland “Rollie” George James Harding of Dipper Harbour unexpectedly went to be with his Lord and Saviour on October 29, 2014. Born in Tabusintac, NB in December of 1941 to the late Ira and Ethel (Murray) Harding. Rollie was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He worked for NB Tel as a Telecommunications Specialist and Eagle Telecom up until his death and he was a Life Member of the Telephone Pioneers. He regularly attended Seaside Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School. Rollie is survived by his wife of 39 years Anne (Spragg) Harding of Dipper Harbour; sons Benjamin (Marji) of Newark, DE, Jadon (Krista) of Paradise, NL; daughter Juanita Crain (Thomas) of Langhorne, PA; grandchildren Karsten, Judah, Jonathan, Callahan, Micah, Sarah, Avalena, and Clara; sisters Betty Read of London, ON, Pamela Harding of St. Andrews; mother-in-law Juanita Spragg of Dipper Harbour; sister-in-law Sylvia Dell’Olio of Dipper Harbour; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Besides his parents, Rollie was predeceased by his step-mother Sylvia Harding, his first wife Jeanette MacIntosh, sister Fay Harding and father-in-law Walter Spragg.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation being held on Friday, October 31st from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, November 1st from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will take place from the Calvary Temple (83 Sydney St. Saint John) on Sunday, November 2nd at 2:30 p.m. followed by an interment at Thomson Burying Ground in Dipper Harbour.
