BIGGS, THELMA PAULINE - Thelma P. Biggs, 91, of Serenacare and formerly of Laird Avenue and Camden Park Terrace, Moncton, passed away peacefully at her residence on Friday, October 31, 2014. Born in Little Shemogue (Murray Beach), she was the daughter of the late Gordon and Edith (Walton) Stright. Thelma was a member of First Baptist Moncton and in her younger years with her husband Reginald, they enjoyed snowmobiling, square dancing, Saturday night socials with friends, travelling North America and the Caribbean and spending time at the cottage in “The Bluff,” with their friends and family. Thelma was the loving mother of daughter, Barbara (James); proud grandmother of Dusty Letcher (Teena), Krista Biggs and Bradford Biggs (Jon Tupper); doting great-grandmother to Ty and Carter Letcher. She will be sadly missed by sisters Dorothy Jackson and Betty Banks; brother Donnie Stright (Violet); daughter-in-law, Susan Biggs; wonderful nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many caring friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Raymond (December 2000) and the two most important men in her life; husband Reginald D. Biggs (January 2010) and son, Thomas "Tom" Biggs (September 2013). The family would like to thank the staff of Serenacare for the love and care given to Thelma during her stay.
In keeping with Thelma’s wishes, there will be no visitation hours. A Celebration of Life Service for Thelma will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at 1:30 pm with Rev. Dr. J. Richard Jackson officiating. Reception in the Funeral Home Reception Centre following the service. Interment to be held at Elmwood Cemetery, in the spring.
