FORREST, MARTIN JAMES - It is with great sadness the family of Martin Forrest announce his passing on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at Kennebec Manor. Born in Whittenburg, NS on May 5, 1926, he was a son of the late John and Mabel (McLean) Forrest. Martin worked as an Iron Moulder at MacAvities for 27 years, and also as a security guard at the Saint John Regional Hospital in its early years of operation. Martin will be missed by his companion, Isabelle; his children, Colleen (Laurie), John, David, Bruce, Marion, Wendy, June-Anne and Linda; granddaughters, Isabelle (Brian) and Sadie May; a great-granddaughter, Tiffany; two great-great-granddaughters, Ashlyn and Alexis; and friends of the family, Guy and Laura LeBlanc. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Jean; brothers, Rex (and his wife, Ruby), Harold, Lewis (and his wife Betty) and Jack; and a little sister in childhood.
Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424) with visiting on Wednesday, November 5, and Thursday, November 6 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 7, 2014 at 2:00 pm from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place at Fernhill Cemetery.
