PALMETER, Doris Irene - Age 99, of Falmouth, passed away Saturday, November 1, 2014 in Haliburton Place, Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born July 20, 1915 in Falmouth, she was a daughter of the late Henry D. and Martha B. (Carmichael) Sexton. Doris attended both Falmouth and Windsor Academy Schools and was employed with Avon Valley Greenhouses for a number of years. Doris was also a seamstress for a number of years, designing and making her own dresses at an early age. She is the last surviving member of her immediate family. Doris is survived by several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved husband, Arthur “Birt” Palmeter (2011); brothers, Russell, Embert and Harold Sexton; sisters, Ethel Allen, Clara and Helen Sexton. The family would like to thank those who were involved with providing music and readings to Doris; also to the students at King’s-Edgehill School who helped in so many ways. It was all a great joy for Doris. Thank you to the Doctors, Nurses and staff of Haliburton Place for the comfort and love shown to Doris.
