John Harris

HARRIS, JOHN L. C. - John Leonard Corey Harris, 63, of Riverview, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Monday, November 3, 2014, to the sound of his family sharing in song and Scripture. John was a retired teacher, having taught at Riverview High School and the Moncton Christian Academy. John will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Lil “Lily” (Mix); precious children, Linsey Reicker (Greg) of Sussex, Joshua, Laura and Jessi Harris, all of Riverview; sisters, Pat Lyons (Richard) of Doaktown, Pam Gordon (Murray) of Keswick Ridge and Margaret Fulford (Robert) of Chilliwack, BC; several nieces and nephews. John was a man of character, which is what first attracted Lil to him. After committing his life to Jesus Christ, he developed Godly character, a fact that was undisputed by anyone he encountered. The most important thing to John was his faith. John was a sacrificial, devoted father and husband. His children, and their desire to follow Jesus, brought him great joy – he could not stop talking about them. John was a life-altering and inspiring teacher, helping those around him re-write their stories from tragedy to hope. He thought “outside the box,” and saw potential in those no one else did. John viewed everyone as equal, and his faith in Jesus compelled him to seek justice and redemption for all. “For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.” Romans 8:18
