Eva (Rutherford) Weatherby

Eva (Rutherford) Weatherby, wife of the late Seymour Weatherby, passed away at her residence in White Hills Nursing Home, Halifax, NS on Sunday morning, November 2, 2014 at the age of 103. She was a nurse, homemaker, member of her church choir, member of the Eastern Star and the Silver Link #61 Rebeka Lodge (Chatham, NB).
She will be sadly missed by her sons, Paul (Bev) of Truro, Ken (Norma) of Miramichi, NB and David (Betty) of Sussex, NB; brothers, Chet and Aubrey of Truro, NS; eight grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, one great great grandson as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Seymour Weatherby (February 2010); brothers Doug, Stewart, Charlie and Archie Rutherford; sister Margie (Rutherford) Weatherby and daughter-in-law Delores Weatherby. Visitation will be held at Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street Truro, NS on Saturday, November 8, 2014 from 1-2 pm with a Memorial Service for Eva and Seymour to follow at 2 pm, Rev. Jason Vienneau officiating. Interment in Old Barns Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gideon Bible Society or the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Nova Scotia. Paul, Ken and David wish to express their thanks to the many caregivers, in particular Lynn (who provided her sense of humour, as well as wonderful meals) and special thanks to the Continuing Care Truro Office for their service when Eva and Seymour resided in Truro. Sincere appreciation also to the Staff at White Hills Nursing Home, Halifax, for their caring support while Eva was a resident there. The family also wishes to thank friends and family who continued to visit Eva at the nursing home.
