MEAD: Annie Mead, age 94 years passed away October 30, 2014 at the Cypress Regional Hospital, Swift Current, SK. A Memorial Service was held on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at the family grave site in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Swift Current. A celebration lunch in her memory was held at the St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Swift Current, SK Nov. 8, 2014 at 2:30 P.M. She is survived by: her son Richard (Edie) Mead; granddaughter Teresa (Anand Ramayya) Mead and great grandchildren: Owen (7 yrs.) and Inna (5 yrs.) Mead-Ramayya; grand daughter Paula (Peter) Ricci; great grandchildren Nino (10 yrs.), Eva (8 yrs.) and Gina (6 yrs.) Ricci; daughter-Marjorie (Jim) Marlatt; granddaughters Cameo and Savavnah Marlatt. She was predeceased by: her father Harry Prokop in 1965, her mother Albina Prokop (nee: Sushetski) in 1992 and her husband Owen Mead , January 1, 1997. Annie Mead was a beautiful person. She was humble and generous, extending her empathy and compassion to people from all walks of life, and to the stray animals and birds she loved to care for. Now she has said goodbye to this world, and though there will be sadness for those she leaves behind, she was a spiritual person and always said she looked forward to seeing the Lord and resting in his care. And she certainly needed the rest: baking, reading, gardening, writing, and feeding most of the folk in the neighbourhood kept her busy and fulfilled. She will be deeply missed, and today we will mourn, but soon we will find ourselves smiling at the wonderful memories she left for us all, and holding them dear.
