ROSS, LESLIE J. - 1925 - 2014 - Leslie Ross "Brick" of Moncton passed away peacefully at the Veterans' Health Center on November 3rd, 2014 at the age of 89 after a lengthy illness. He was a veteran of WWII serving on HMCS St. Catherine’s during the battle of the Atlantic. Brick was employed for 45 years as a technician with CN Telecommunication. Born in Moncton son of the late William and Beulah (Beecham) Ross. Leslie will be sadly missed by his four sons; Wayne (Gail), Greg (Joyce), Philip (Janice) and Leigh (Clara) all of Moncton, eight grandchildren; Natalie, Jason, Stephanie, Christopher, Jennifer, Amy, Tyler and Jordan, as well as many great grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother Warren (Ruth) of Moncton as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Leslie was predeceased by his wife Evelyn (2013), seven siblings; Hank, Elva, Gertrude, Doreen, Shirley, Russell and Robert. Leslie was happiest when surrounded by his family and grandchildren. He was a hard worker, generous and always willing to give a helping hand to those who needed it and not expecting anything in return. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening with a passion for harness racing. Resting at Fair Haven Funeral Home with visitation on Friday, November 7, 2014 from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm, Legion Service at 7:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at the Chapel of Fair Haven Funeral Home on Saturday, November 8 at 2:00 pm followed by a reception in the Garden View Reception Room. Interment in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Leslie's memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation or the charity of the donor’s choice. The family would like to send a heartfelt thanks to the staff of the Veterans' Centre, Moncton for the wonderful care he was provided in his last years and the help provided to us as a family.
