POIRIER, STELLA - Stella Poirier, 87, of Grande-Digue and formerly of Irishtown, passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at the Moncton Hospital. Born on August 26, 1927 in Cocagne, she was the daughter of the late Alyre and Elise (Cormier) Cormier. Prior to her retirement, she worked in housekeeping at the Villa du Repos. She is survived by one daughter, Jeanne Poirier (Ron) of Moncton; three sons: Paul (Monique) and Yvon (Hermance), both of Grand-Barachois, and Charles (Sheila) of Riverview; two sisters: Germaine Brodie (late Frank) of Grande-Digue and Anna Mazerolle (late René) of Notre-Dame; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Alonzo (1986); three sisters: infant Jeannita, Léona and Orise; six brothers: Lionide, Alphée, Maxime, Camille, Irenée and Georges.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no viewing. A private funeral service will be celebrated at Frenette Funeral Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900). Interment will be in Notre-Dame-du-Sacré-Coeur cemetery in Notre-Dame. In memory of Stella, a contribution to the Parkinson Society would be appreciated. www.frenettefuneralhome.com
