Ronald Johnson Hope “Dubby” age 86 of Amherst passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at Gables Lodge in Amherst.
Dubby was born on November 6, 1927 in Amherst, he was a son of the late Sidney and Winnifred (Carter) Hope.
He resided at Gables for the last few years and enjoyed spending time on Thursday afternoons at the senior club.
Dubby worked for Aerovox until his retirement after many years of service.
He enjoyed playing cards, darts and was an avid Blue Jay and Maple Leaf fan.
Dubby will be lovingly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, step-children, step grandchildren as well as a large extended family.
Dubby was the last surviving member of his immediate family and was predeceased by his wife, June Victoria (Burton) Hope; sister, Jean Hunter; brothers, Bob, Sidney Jr. “Tootie”, William, and Sanford,
There will be no visitation prior to the funeral service held on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Byron Corkum officiating from Campbell’s Funeral Home Chapel, 98 Church St., Amherst (667-9906). Interment will follow in the Amherst Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Dubby’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or charity of your choice.
