SKILLSTAD: Lina age 86 of Swift Current, SK passed away suddenly at the Swift Current Regional Hospital on October 31, 2014. Lina was born on February 13, 1928 to Jules and Leonie Leroy on the family farm south of Dollard, SK. Lina was the middle child of nine. During her younger years she helped on the family farm. In 1948 she married her first husband Norman Williams. From this union she had four children, Nellie, James, Sherryl, and Geraldine. They raised their children in Maple Creek, SK. Lina remarried to her soul mate Nels (Snookie) Skillstad in 1973 and resided in Cabri, SK until Nels' passing in 1995 when she moved to Swift Current, where she resided until her passing. Lina is predeceased by her parents; two brothers; two sisters; her first husband Norm; son James; daughter Sherryl; second husband Nels; and son-in-law Eddie Nielson. Lina is survived by her daughters Nellie Nielson and her children Nels (Theresa), and Amber (Armand) and their children Crystal and Marcel; Geraldine Williams and her sons Christopher (Aimee), and children Brandon (Haley), Tanner, Baille, Carter, Nathan, and Curtis; son-in-law Alan Jackson, his children Tyson (Sherry), and Bonnie (Troy), and their children Samantha, Landon, Taylor, Hunter; Michael (Tina),Their Children Alicia, Rebecca; Heather (Dave), Their Children Brayden, Liam, Bailey, and Ashton; brothers Paul (Rita), and Lucien (Verna); sisters Laura, Marie, and Betty; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service was held on November 5, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. from Mount Calvary Lutheran Church with Pastor Brad Julien officiating. The Interment Service was held at Shackleton Cemetery. The eulogy was presented by her granddaughters Amber LeBlanc and Aimee Williams, honorary pallbearers were her grandchildren Nels, Amber, Tyson, Bonnie, Michael, Heather, Christopher, and Curtis.
