SALTZMAN, STANLEY - It is with great sorrow the family of Stanley Edward Saltzman announce his passing on November 5, 2014 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on February 21, 1927, he was the son of the late Archibald and Bertha (Cook) Saltzman. Stanley was involved in several sports in his youth including baseball and bowling. Stanley’s true passion was golf, which he enjoyed for many years, winning numerous tournaments and trophies. He was also an accomplished woodworker and carver which he was also recognized for by winning first place at the annual ANE carving competition. He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 62 years, June (Olton) Saltzman and their children Edward (Marsha), Darlene (Brian) and Mark (Susan); grandchildren Lester, (Deidre), George (April), Laura (Gerald), Jennifer (Joel), Kendra (Jordan), Alexander and Xavier; great-grandsons Cameron, Liam, Parker and Tanner; sister Ilene (Gerry) and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by a sister Marjorie and a brother Douglas.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Rd. (646-2424). By request there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at Westfield United Church, 133 Nerepis Road on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at 11 a.m. A reception will follow in the church hall. Interment in Cedar Hill Ext.
