MADSEN, LEONARD - Leonard C. Madsen of Fredericton passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital with his family on November 5, 2014 at the age of 93. Born in Salmonhurst, New Denmark, NB, July 22, 1921, he was the son of Peter K. and Maren (Johnsen) Madsen. Leonard is survived by his son Kris (Germaine) Madsen, grandchildren, Leonard J. (Melissa) Madsen, Alex (Jocelyne Vautour) Madsen, Kerrie (Shawn) Dollemont, Patrick (Karen) Madsen, Chandra Madsen, Erin (Ronald Adams) Madsen, his nine great-grandchildren and sister Bernice (Howard) Mutrie of Kitchener, ON. He is also survived by several cousins and many nieces and nephews. Aside from his parents, Leonard was predeceased by his wife Charlotte Louise (MacDonald) Madsen of 66 years and his son, John (Bonnie) Madsen.
In keeping with Leonard’s wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service. Graveside Service will take place Monday, November 10, 2014 at 2:00pm in Forest Hill Cemetery, interment will take place alongside his wife Charlotte. In lieu of flowers, donations in Leonard’s memory may be made to The New Brunswick Heart Centre (NBHC), Saint John, NB.
