Hayward, Edith Jeanette – 72, Truro died Thursday, November 6, 2014 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born December 24, 1941 in Kemptown, she was the daughter of Charles and Alice (Johnson) Frizell. Edith was employed at Stanfields Ltd. and later worked as a home care support for the VON. She was a member of the Abundant Life Fellowship Church in Bible Hill. She loved to go hunting and fishing with her late husband, Delbert and also enjoyed gardening and doing crafts. Edith loved her family very much. She is survived by daughters, Cindy Donovan, Truro Heights, Kathy (David) Brush, Upper Brookside; grandchildren, Shawna and Nathan Donovan, Truro, Scott and Ben Brush, Truro; great-grandchildren, Nathaniel, Uriah and Isiah Donovan, Bible Hill; brothers, Harold (Annie) Frizell, Truro, Brian (Gloria) Frizell, Ont.; sisters, Marie (Fred) Gregory and Doris Hakala, Cambridge, NY, Rose (Lloyd) Sexton, Truro, Sharon Kervin, Sackville, NS, June (Sam) Richardson, Kemptown; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Delbert Hayward; brothers, Roberts, Glendon, Eldon, Vernon and George “Geordie” Frizell. Cindy and Kathy would like to thank Aunt Rose and June for visiting everyday and Bill and Barb, Ethel, CJ, Gwen, Brenda and many others who dropped by to visit or bring us food so we didn’t have to leave Mom during this past week. It was greatly appreciated. Thank You. We would also like to thank the nurses in the Palliative Care Unit for taking such great care of our mom. We would like to thank Pastor Gary Doherty and Pastor Gerry Bezanson for taking the time to drive to Truro from Moncton and Annapolis Valley respectively to pray for our mom and also Pastor Scott Penner and his wife Jeanette for their visits. Visitation will be held November 10 from 6-8 pm; funeral service on November 11 at 1:00 pm, both in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro with Pastor Scott Penner officiating. Interment in Crossroads Cemetery, Valley. Reception to follow in Truro Alliance Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Colchester East Hants Hospice Society or charity of your choice.
