Peacefully surrounded by family at the Western Hospital, Alberton, on Friday, Nov. 7, 2014, of Wilbert J. Gallant of Miminegash, aged 78 years. Beloved husband of Edna (Gaudet) Gallant. He was born in Miminegash on March 10, 1936, son of the late Anthony and May (Thibodeau) Gallant. Dear father to Richard (Juanita) Gallant, O’Leary; Jerry (Sandra) Gallant, Thompson Road; Theresa (Ernest) Costain, O’Leary; Emmanuel Gallant (Faye Getson), Miminegash; Linda (Allan) Crossman, Bedeque and Lena (Billy) MacKinnon, Stratford. Loving grandfather to 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers and sisters Kathleen Bernard, Elaine Cormier, Myrtle (Hans) Smith, Gladys (Mike) Spin, Judy Gallant, Mary (Don) Jones, George (Velda) Gallant, Robert Gallant (Audrey), Phillip (Stella) Gallant and Ronnie Gallant. He was predeceased by his parents Anthony and May, sons Emile and Barry, brothers Harvey, Freddie, sisters Goldie and Dorothy in infancy. Resting at the West Prince Funeral Home, 522 Thompson Road, Palmer Road, for visiting hours Sunday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 9 to 10 a.m. Funeral will be held Monday, Nov. 10, 2014, at the Immaculate Conception Church, Palmer Road, with funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment in the church cemetery. Memorial donations to the Immaculate Conception Church Repair Fund would be greatly appreciated.
