GILMOUR, ABBIE WRIGHT - The passing of Abbie Gilmour, son of the late William and Ethel Gilmour occurred on November 9th, 2014 at the age of 94 years. He was born April 15th, 1920 in Montreal, QC. Abbie is survived by one sister, Ethel Vaughan of Burlington, VT and a niece, Brenda Gilmour of Wolfville, NS. Abbie was a member of the Masonic Lodge, St George #440 of Montreal for over 60 years. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge in Port Alberni, BC. He was connected with fire protection for 72 years, starting at the age of 16. He started his own business in Fredericton in 1962, which he owned for 45 years. He traveled throughout Canada twice, installing sprinkler systems in all provinces. All churches with fire sprinkler systems, regardless of denomination, received service free of charge.
There will be no visitation or service at Abbie's request. Cremation will take place. Remembrances may be made to the Shriner's Hospital for Children or to a charity of the donor's choice. McAdam's Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. www.mcadamsfh.com
