It is with great sadness that the family of Gilbert Ephraim King Blanchard announce his passing on Tuesday, November 11th, 2014, at his home in Woody Pt., NL,. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 56 years: Mrs. Evelyn Rita (Duval) Blanchard, his six children: Nelson (Kris Oravec) of Shoal Brook, NL, Angus of Fort McMurray, AB, Anglia (Frank) Mallioux of Orangeville, On., Shirley Blanchard (Gary Smith) of Fort McMurray, AB., Marjorie (Robert) Campbell of Fort McMurray, AB., & Glenda (Roger) Pittman of Brampton, ON., his grandchildren: Leah (Eric) Pittman and their children: Abigail and Noah, Justin (Amanda) Mallioux, Sara-Lynn (Scott) Sheppard and Gavin, Dominic Blanchard Gillam (Elizabeth Hamlyn), Stephen Pittman, Brittany Pittman, and daughter Izabella, Natasha Campbell and Matthew Campbell, his step grandchildren; Joshua Barnes and Rhya Oravec, his brother's; Harold (Julia) Blanchard, Fred (Emily) Blanchard, Walter (Mary) Blanchard, & Milton Blanchard, his sister's; Marjorie Johnson, & Muriel (John) Parrott, his sister-in-laws; June Depres, Sadie Butler, Phyllis Duval, Shirley Butt, and Mable (Rod) Bouzane, his brother-in-laws; Thomas Duval, & Blandford (Valerie) Duval, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, & friends. Gilbert was predeceased by his parents; father Stewart Blanchard, & mother Alma nee King, his niece Joan, & nephew Shawn, his father & mother-in law; Arthur & Pearl Duval, his brother-inlaws; Lyver Duval, Laurie Depres, Eldric Duval, Cecil Duval, & Carl Butler, his sister-in-law; Georgina Blanchard. The family will be receiving family and friends from the Anglican Church of The Epiphany in Woody Pt., NL, on Wednesday, November 12th, 2014, from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 pm, where also the funeral service will take place from on Thursday, November 13th, 2014, at 2: pm, with Rev: Canon: Louise Richards officiating with the burial to follow at the church Cemetery in woody Pt., NL.
