Geddes, Shirley Florence, - 87, Waterville, formerly of Truro, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 9, 2014 at her home in Green Creek with her family. Born on a farm in Waterville, she was the daughter of the late Olive (Silver) and Everett Taylor. Shirley was a lifelong member of Waterville United Baptist Church. She loved reading, sewing, gardening, crafts, cooking, cottage life, traveling, animals and shopping. She was a loving mother to Darrel (Doris Anne), Waterville, Pamela (Roy) Plant, Middle Sackville, Dana (Brenda Fisher), Green Creek, Gail Geddes (Ross Toffamire) East Petpeswick Rd., Kevin (Kimberley Crowe), Clifton; devoted grandmother to 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Bernard Geddes and her special friend, Willis Rhyno. The family wish to extend a special thank you to Dr. Donald Rowe, Peter Bates, VON, the Palliative Care team and Brenda Fisher for their kindness and support. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 12 from 7-9 pm in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro. A second visitation will take place in Waterville United Baptist Church, 1243 Mill Street, Waterville on Thursday, November 13 from 1 pm until time of the funeral service at 2 pm, Pastor Christine Bigelow officiating. Interment in the Berwick Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Waterville United Baptist Church, Canadian Diabetes Association or the Canadian Cancer Society of Nova Scotia.
