It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Maxine Marie Cameron, age 85, on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Brookfield, Colchester County, Maxine was the daughter of the late James and Effie (Graham) Wilson. She was a member of First United Church, UCW Unit N, I.O.D.E. – Colchester Chapter, and United Commercial Travelers. Maxine was a charter member of Beta Sigma Phi (Beta Master) and was recently honored for 50 years perfect attendance. Her enjoyment in meeting people was evident in her past work at Charm Diamond Centre and in volunteering with various service groups. She enjoyed golfing, needlework, and spending time with family. She was a kind and giving woman who always put her family first. Maxine is survived by her daughters, Gladie (Scott) McNutt, Truro; Heather, Truro; cherished grandchildren, Justin, Halifax, Laura, Fredericton as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, John Kaye Cameron and her brothers, Frank, Donald and Vernon Wilson. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Dr. Neil Bower, VON staff, and nursing staff of Colchester East Hants Health Centre for their kindness and care. Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 15 from 2-4 pm in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro. Funeral service will take place on Sunday, November 16 at 3:00 pm in First United Church, Prince St., Truro, Rev. Valerie Kingsbury officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First United Church UCW, VON – Colchester East Hants Branch or Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Foundation.
